Prospective parents and pupils are welcome to visit Uplands College to view our picturesque, well-resourced campus. You may take a tour of the campus, grounds and boarding houses with the Marketing Officer, Mrs Bev Du Preez, when it is convenient for you to do so.

Entry to the College is determined by the availability of space, assessment and an interview with the Headmaster.

Space in classes throughout the grades and in our boarding homes is limited. It is therefore advisable to apply and complete an application for your child as soon as possible.
Scholarships are awarded to pupils currently in Grade 7 wanting to enter the College in Grade 8. One Scholarship and a maximum of four College Awards are available to pupils with exceptional talent in the Academic, Sporting and Cultural arenas.

The awards are made at the discretion of the College and are based on past academic, sporting and cultural achievements, a personal interview with the Headmaster, performance in the assessment and Scholarship exams.
Uplands College release Scholarship Results

Uplands College is proud to announce the winners of the annual scholarship awards, for pupils with exceptional talent entering the College in Grade 8 2016.  

A competitive field of 106 aspiring candidates from 42 primary schools, in the Lowveld, Johannesburg, Swaziland, Mozambique and Botswana took part in the scholarship examinations.

Exceptional results were achieved, which resulted in the College making eight awards:

  • Thapelo Mmadi from St Peters Nelspruit received the College Open Academic Scholarship Award.
  • Izabella Carvalho from Uplands Preparatory and Anathi Nkosi from St Peters Nelspruit received College Awards.
  • Leonard Brugman from Uplands Preparatory received the College Cultural Award.
  • Kayla Schefermann from Penryn Prep School, Frederich De Koker from Usutu Forest Primary in Swaziland and Hopewell Sidell from Laerskool Bergland all received College Sports Awards.
  • Campbell Davies-Webb from Uplands Preparatory was awarded the “All Rounder” Sports Award.

Uplands Open Day
Uplands Preparatory and Uplands College host an annual Open Day, usually in the second term. This gives prospective pupils and parents an opportunity to view the school in operation, watch sport, listen to Music pupils performing, view pupils’ art displays, tour the campus, visit the boarding homes and speak to current pupils and parents.

Admissions Policy
Entry to Uplands College is determined by the availability of space, performance in the assessment and an interview with the Headmaster.

 How to Apply for a Place

The first step to apply for a place for your child is to complete the Registration form and return together with:

  • Copies of your child’s two most recent school reports
  • Copy of your child's Birth certificate
  • Copy of both parents' ID Documents / Passport
  • Id size Photograph of your child
  • R400 non-refundable registration fee 

The school will then guide you through the rest of the process.

Entrance Assessment

Entry to Grade 8 is by assessment and an interview with the Headmaster usually in the first term, in the year prior to entry.

It is possible to take pupils into other grades, entrance assessments and interviews will be done on an individual basis depending on availability.

Space in classes throughout the grades and in our boarding homes is limited. It is therefore advisable to apply and complete the application for your child as soon as possible.

Please indicate your choice of Assessment date in section “C” of the Registration form.

If the application is successful, a letter of offer is sent to the parents of the applicant.

The acceptance contract, initialed and signed, and accompanied by the deposit need to be returned to the College to secure the place being offered.
